The Belgian Croix de Guerre (War Cross) was a military decoration established in 1915 to recognize acts of bravery or other distinguished service on the battlefield during World War I.
The medal is a Maltese cross with swords crossed through the center. The center medallion features a lion rampant, which is a symbol of Belgium
The medal is suspended from a crown, which is characteristic of the Belgian version of the award.
It was awarded to Belgian and Allied soldiers for exceptional acts of courage in the face of the enemy.
Made of bronze washed brass.
Excellent condition. No ribbon but should be easy to find on EBay or similar.
