DDR, MfS/Stasi Officer award document group

A fantastic and cohesive group for an officer within the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (Stasi), the East German state security service.
The man started his career back in 1948 and served in the ministry right up to 1987. A career that resulted in nine medals and a final rank as Hauptmann. In the last years he served in the Grenztruppen der DDR, most likely within the Passport and Control Units (Paß- und Kontrolleinheiten, PKE) controlled by the MfS Hauptabteilung VI. The Waffenbrüderschaft medal also indicates some form of cooperation and exchange with other security services within the Warsaw Pact.

The group consists of the following documents:

Medaille für Treue Dienst in Bronze (5 years), awarded in 1958
Medaille für Treue Dienst in Silver (10 years), awarded in 1961
Medaille für Treue Dienst in Gold (15 years), awarded in 1966 (With Erich Mielke's handwritten signature)
Medaille für Treue Dienst in Gold (XX, 20 years), awarded in 1971
Verdienstmedaillen der NVA in Bronze, awarded in 1967
Verdienstmedaillen der Grenztruppen in Gold, awarded in 1985
Medaille der Waffenbrüdershaft in Bronze, awarded in 1987
Ehrenurkunde - 25 Jahre Treue Dienst, awarded in 1976
Ehrenurkunde - 30 Jahre Treue Dienst, awarded in 1981
Discharge document (Handsigned by Generalmajor Horst Böhm, head of the Dresden District administration, committed suicide shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall)
Certificate for completed studies at the Juristische Fachschule Potsdam, the secret educational institution for members of the MfS. Issued in 1986.

A very interesting group with two very rare documents, the JHS certificate and discharge document.
MfS-groups are rarely seen for sale, especially not with this dignity! Overall very good condition of all documents and folders.
