DDR, Stasi/Grenztruppen medal group
Very interesting group from an employee within the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (MfS/Stasi) working within the Grenztruppen der DDR.
The original owner worked within the passport control units (PKE). They performed their duties in the uniform of the border troops, but were not members of them. Instead they worked under the Hauptabteilung VI / HA VII of the East German state security service.
The group consists of:
- Grenztruppen Treue Dienst medal in silver (for 10 years), with MfS-urkunde dated 1989. Medal is the older version, most likely a leftover medal being used.
- MfS 35 years Anniversary badge, with urkunde dated 1985.
- Certificate for completed military service. Dated 1981, then with the rank of Feldwebel.
- b/w studio photo with dark collar uniform.
- Military housing allocation document.
A very rare and interesting group! The Grenztruppen Treue dienst medal is rare in itself and you very rarely see them with the matching MfS-urkunde.
Good condition on all items, with normal patina.
