Australian WW2 P1907 Bayonet
Iconic WW1 1907 pattern bayonet supplied to the Australian Military.
The bayonet is stamped with the Australian government ownership mark and is complete with a Mangrovite scabbard.
The 432mm single-edged, blackened blade has a long narrow fuller and rounded spine. The blade is in very good condition
The obverse ricasso bears the War Department arrow, OA for Orange Arsenal, on the other side is MA 1907 1 12 45 stamped.
The crosspiece, muzzle ring and pommel retain their blueing and the crosspiece bears a struck Australian government stamp.
The push button locking mechanism is in good condition and works well.
The bayonet is complete with an Australian made WW2 issue No.1 Mk II leather scabbard with a large round frog stud. The scabbard is in very good condition. The leather is stamped “Mangrovite’43.”
This is an excellent example of the iconic 1907 pattern Enfield bayonet that was provided to Australia during WW2.
