Swedish Swedish Air Force Meteorologist wing m/1946

Swedish METEOROLOG m/1946 vinge

The wing  features a very low serial number - 94, and originates from the very first production batch manufactured in 1946.

Because each meteorologist received two badges with their unique number, serial number 94 means this specific piece belonged to one of the absolute first 50 military meteorologists in Sweden to graduate and be awarded their wings in the autumn of 1946. This makes it an incredibly early, rare, and historically significant piece of Swedish aviation history!

Note that it also have the seldom seen original back plate.

The badge was introduced that exact year (hence the designation "model m/1946") after military meteorologists were officially granted flight duty status.

It was designed by Nils Kindberg and ordered by the Air Force Materiel Administration (Flygförvaltningen) from the renowned manufacturer Sporrong & Co.

The initial production run consisted of 950 numbered pieces in gold-colored metal. Each certified meteorologist was issued two identical, numbered badges (one for the main dress uniform and one as a spare).

Overall excellent condition, show some light patina which totally normal after 80 years.
