German WW2 M35 Helmet used postwar
This is an original M35 helmet that was used during WW2 and then after the war reissued.
As we have been told these helmets were worn by both the German Red Cross and Fire fighter units.
So to be clear, this is not the typical light weight helmet, it's a standard M40 army helmet.
It was a common practice to use and rework old wartime equipment.
It's quite uncommon to find M40 helmets used by Red cross/fire fighter, they mainly used the M34 light weight helmet.
You can find similar helmets painted black or as in this case white.
Helmet has been repainted several times, in some places it seems that the original paint is visual.
Overall condition is very good, with liner and chinstrap in working condition.
Tip: this helmet could be used as an alternative for a white washed WW2 winter camo helmet. The only difference is that this just cost a fraction of a wartime winter helmet.
