Soviet political banner - Lenin & State emblem
Impressive banner in red synthetic fabric. One side is decorated with Lenin in profile above the hammer and sickle surrounded by oak leaves. Above Lenin is the text: Workers of the world, unite! On the other side is the state emblem of the Soviet Union. The motifs are both printed and machine embroidered. Three of the four sides of the banner are decorated with yellow fringes. The fourth side has a channel for easy mounting on a flagpole or similar.
Overall good condition, with slightly faded red color. Minor stains mainly along the channel. Has likely been displayed with pride for many decades.
Manufactured ca. 1960´s, with 15 languages state emblem (in use between 1956-1991). Size: ca. 100x140 cm!
Banners like this often adorned public buildings, schools and factories. They could also be awarded as awards for outstanding performance or results. A massive piece that makes an excellent display item in any collection!
