Juristische Hochschule des MfS: The schools official name was Juristische Hochschule Potsdam (JHS), and was an educational institution of the Ministry for State Security. It was founded on June 16, 1951 as a school of the Stasi and on February 16, 1965 it received the status of a university for legal education. The training only represented legal studies in name, but not in content. It was not a training place for a legal profession and also not a legal research institute, but an academic secret service facility of the Ministry for State Security with a very strong ideological orientation.
