Japan WW2  Order of the Sacred Treasure 8th class

Japan - 瑞宝章 Zuihō-shō. Instituted January 4, 1888, by Emperor Meiji, the order of the sacred treasure was awarded for long and/or meritorious civil or military service.

It is constructed out of a die-struck silver-alloy base. The obverse features a raised, centrally placed silver “mirror” against a pebbled background surrounded in an eight-pointed star, with points that end in circles, and has smaller circles to the intersections of the edge lines.

The reverse features kanji characters impressed to it, translating to “Order of Merit Decoration”.

The top features gold painted kanji characters.

Overall excellent condition with some light patina.
