Finnish Winter war medal with Swords 'SUOMUSSALMI'.
Excellent condition. Magnetic, blackened metal.
Front shows a Finnish solider, dressed in winter camouflage, firing his rifle, on the left and right side are emblems for Finlands different regions, at the bottom 1939/1940 and at the top a crown with two arms holding sword. Reverse says "Kunnia Isänmaa" (For the fatherland).
Complete with a campaign bar "SUOMUSSALMI" and swords(awarded to a front soldier).
Issued for the victories in the wilderness around Suomussalmi and the Raate Road.
The Suomussalmi clasp is one of the most popular since it's a famous Finnish victory which including comparatively limited numbers of troops.
