German WW2 Army/SS Zeltbahn/Shelter/Poncho
This is a recent find from a picker friend in Mannheim, directly from a house clearing.
Standard issue, water resistant, cotton drill construction, quarter shelter/poncho with the printed, geometric, splinter camouflage pattern in shades of tans, brown and green.
These zeltbahns could be used in many ways, as a shelter of course but very often also used as camouflage over the regular uniform, google and you will find a lot of pictures.
The camouflage pattern has a slightly lighter, (spring), coloration to one side, and a slightly darker, (autumn), coloration to the other side.
As far as we can see, all buttons and also the small strings are still there.
Shows the expected period use and wear but overall excellent condition, still with nice vibrant colors.
