German WW2 Heer/Army Medic Dentist Officer's Tunic
A very nice Officer’s Service Tunic tailored for an Stabsarzt (Hauptmann) serving in the Medical Corps (Sanitätstruppe).
Constructed from fine-quality, private-purchase field-green-grey Trikot wool, this tunic displays deep French turn-back cuffs, a dark green stand-and-fall collar, and complete original officer-grade insignia.
Dark Blue (Dunkelblau) piping on both the shoulder boards and collar tabs inserts, designating the Medical corps.
The Stabsarzt /Hauptmann-rank shoulder boards are fitted with gilt rank pips, a gilt Snake/Rod of Asclepius device, and a prominent gilt Gothic "Z" cipher—attributing this uniform to a Zahnarzt which is German for Dentist.
Tunics from this branch is extremely rare.
Very nice hand-embroidered silver flatwire/bullion breast eagle and bullion officer collar tabs.
There is a set of loops for one award.
All insignia is wartime applied!
Tailor label on the inside, made by Wilhelm Welhausen, Hannover.
Overall condition is very good.
There is a repair on the edge and around the flap of the lower left pocket and another repair on at the bottom of the lower right pocket. The rest of the tunic cloth is very nice. There are some stains on the inside that looks like it could be blood, but who knows.
The eagle, collar tabs and shoulder boards are near perfect.
