Roter Frontkämpferbund (?) "Rot Front" Pocket mirror

German pocket mirror, made in the 1920s, possibly early 1930s.

The back is decorated with a raised clenched fist in red, similar to the symbol of the Roter Frontkämpferbund (RFB). Circularly below the symbol is the text "Rot Front" (Red Front), a common slogan within RFB. The exact origin of the mirror is however unknown.

Well used condition as per pictures. Diameter: 55 mm.

Very rare item! Few objects from 1920s communist Germany have survived, for obvious reasons.

-------------------

The Roter Frontkämpferbund, translated as "Alliance of Red Front-Fighters" or "Red Front Fighters' League", usually called the Rotfrontkämpferbund (RFB), was a far-left paramilitary organization affiliated with the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) during the Weimar Republic. The first local branches of the RFB were established in July 1924. It was officially a non-partisan and legally registered association. The organisation was banned by the governing Social Democrats in 1929. Many of its original members achieved cult status in what would later become the Warsaw Pact.
