German WW1 Second pattern M1884/98 bayonet

Second pattern example of the M1884/98 knife bayonet used with the Mauser Gewehr 98. The second pattern represents the first new production M1884/98 bayonet.

This is the same pattern used during the Weimar period and the entire WW2.

This example was made in 1917 by August Küpper, Solingen.

It carries the Royal Cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia, who reigned 1888–1918. The cypher is clearly vicible on the spine of the blade, the top of the pommel and on the scabbard ball.

Beautiful anodized scabbard, no damages. Handle with metal fittings are also very very nice. The blade is no exception.

Overall a super nice late WW1 manufactured bayonet.
