German WW2 M40 Army Sand camouflage ex Single Decal Helmet 'NS62'
A great looking helmet!
This helmet was found in Norway after the war, we have spoken to several advanced helmet collectors and they say that this is typical helmet that you would find in Norway.
This helmet started as a standard single decal army helmet.
Sometime after 1940 it was repainted with a combat green color mixed with sand.
As per regulation the decal was painted over but there is a scratch in the paint were you still see a fraction of it.
Helmet has a very nice rather rough texture. There are some minor scratches but nothing that you wouldn't expect from a combat helmet.
It was hard to capture the exact color, have that in mind please.
NOTE: the pictures with a white background are taken in our studio, the others outside. The outdoor pictures are a bit more accurate.
The shell is marked "NS62 D181" . NS is the maker Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke, Schwerte. 62 the size and D181 is the lot number.
The liner is in very good condition, it's soiled from use but is still soft.
Chin strip is still soft with no damages.
The final pictures show a similar helmet also from Norway.
