British WW2 Army's Guards Armoured Division Rhin et Danube" damascus dagger

This dagger is a so called "Rhin et Danube" (First French Army) commemorative dagger, produced to celebrate the victory and campaign path of the French 1st Army (1ère Armée Française) led by General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny at the end of World War II.

The Insignia: The shield with the "Ever Open Eye" (l'Œil Ouvert) belonged to the Guards Armoured Division, representing British forces who fought alongside allied armies across Western Europe.

Damascus style blade.

Blade is made of steel, handle and crossguard are aluminium.

Total length 25 cm.

These never had a scabbard.

A very hard to find dagger of historical importance.

We have only seen one similar and it sold for 250 british pounds + fees which is roughly 300 euros, so our price is more than fair!
