Finnish Medal of Liberty 2nd class 1918.
Finnish: Vapaudenmitali 2. luokka, 1918 / Swedish: Frihetsmedaljen 2:a klassen, 1918
Created in 1918 during the fight for independence and the War of Liberation.
It was awarded to Finnish White Guard personnel, as well as foreign allies who supported the White Finnish forces—including members of the Swedish Brigade (Svenska Brigaden) and troops of the German Baltic Sea Division (Ostsee-Division)
Excellent condition. Made of brass.
Maker marked at the bottom on the back "S&Co Q7 B" meaning it was made by Sporrong 1918(Q7 is the date code for 1918).
Text URHEUDESTA/FÖR TAPPERHET means FOR BRAVERY and was awarded to soldiers.
A rather hard to find medal with only around 13 000 pcs manufactured.
