Finnish Winter war medal, with the 'Karjalan Kannas' clasp

Instituted on 2. August.1940 for the participants of the so called Winter War (Talvisota), defending Finland against Soviet invasion 1939-1940.

Front shows a Finnish solider, dressed in winter camouflage, firing his rifle, on the left and right side are emblems for Finlands different regions, at the bottom 1939/1940 and at the top a crown with two arms holding sword. Reverse says "Kunnia Isänmaa" (For the fatherland).

Execellent condition. 

'Karjalan Kannas' battle clasp, issued to those soldiers who participated in the battles in the area of the Karelian Nest.

The swords indicate that the receiver was an active soldier.
