Finnish WW2 Winter War medal 1939-40
These differ from the standard medal and is larger and have different text on the back and also different color.
The bronze version was awarded to foreign supporters who organized relief efforts, raised funds, delivered supplies, or volunteered for service but did not reach the front before the war ended.
Note that this bronze version is much harder to find than the black one. The black was awarded +10 000 time, but this in bronze only 1961 times.
Excellent condition.
Medal is made of bronze.
With original ribbon and safety pin device on the back.
Front shows a Finnish solider firing his rifle, region emblems, 1939/1940 and at the bottom a cross with traditional arm emblems. Reverse says "Summo in Periculo Fautoribus Adiutoribus Finlandia Memor" (Commemorating the defenders and helpers of Finland in her greatest danger).
Very rare medal in a excellent condition!
