Finnish WW2 Karelia (Karjala) Coat of Arms Enamel Screw-Back Badge

A patriotic/heraldic shield badge depicting the historic Coat of Arms of Karelia (Karjalan vaakuna). Featuring a deep, brilliant translucent red guilloché-style enamel field topped by a ducal coronet and the iconic dueling arms—the Western/Swedish armored arm holding a straight sword facing the Eastern/Russian arm with a curved scimitar.

During the Winter War (1939–1940) and Continuation War (1941–1944), the defense of Karelia became the supreme symbol of Finnish resistance (Sisu). High-quality screw-back heraldic pins of this design were worn on civilian coats, lapels, and uniform tunics by veterans, officers, patriotic supporters, and foreign volunteers.

Hard to read but we think the makers mark on the nut says H. M. H. Kultala which was a famous manufacturer.

A hard to find badge!
