Ein volk bricht ketten badge

A historically important badge.

Non magnetic brass badge. Diameter roughly 30 mm.

30 mm.

Excellent condition.

Breaking the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles of 1919, which were perceived as "chains", determined the goals of German foreign policy throughout the Weimar Republic. With the reintroduction of general conscription on March 16, 1935, the German Reich repealed all military provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. With this badge, among other things, the National Socialists made it clear that they no longer wanted to accept all of the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. The expansionist Nazi foreign policy went far beyond the revision of the Treaty of Versailles demanded by most Germans.
