German WW2 Kriegsmarine Officer On Watch Badge
German: Kriegsmarine Dienstabzeichen für Wachoffiziere
Only one of this badge was given to crew members of vessels, or shore facilities, and it would have been transfered between crew members as they went on watch duty. They were not issued to individuals.
This badge features a hollow-back construction with two eyelets (top and bottom). This allowed the badge to be secured seamlessly into the jacket buttonhole or onto a duty armband via a split-pin/cotter-pin method.
Made of non magnetic stamped brass with gold washed/gilted finish.
Size roughly 65 x 55 mm.
Excellent condition.
