Auxiliary Stretcher Bearer (HilfsKrankenträger) Armband.

The photo at the end with all the items come from the same estate. The Lagerwache armband is most likely from the 20's and the Jugendbund. After this the soldier joined the RAD and later he became a soldier in the 12th infanterie regiment Quedlinburg. As you can see he earned the iron cross, the eastern front medal and the 4 year service award. He probably became a medic as can be seen on the armbands. The red cross armband is also stamped with the 12th regiment stamp.

Early high quality armband made of linen with machine embroided letters and black rectangle.

Very good condition, no rips or holes.

You don't see these early ones very often.

Remember that these armbands were worn by real front soldiers and not behind the lines. A very dangerous job for sure.

Last picture is just for reference and show a show a soldier with this type of armband.

-----------------------------------------------------
Hilfskrankenträger= auxiliary stretcher bearers - were normal members of a company with a little bit advanced first aid training. In case a combat situation made it necessary they "dropped" their weapon, got a armband (either "Hilfskrankenträger" or a red cross armband), a basic first aid pouch and mainly recovered wounded comrades from the field plus providing basic aid (bandages etc...).
