German Army Heavy Artillery Rgt 648 Slip On Shoulder Strap Slides
Slip on shoulder strap slides for wear by EM/NCO’s were introduced on January 24th 1940 for economic and security reasons. The slides were cheaper and easier to produce then full shoulder straps and could be exchange easily if an individual was transferred or removed in the field to conceal unit designations.
Field-grey wool construction slip on shoulder strap slides with a machine stitched seam to the reverse and red chain stitched “648” indicating service in the Heavy artillery regiment 648.
This unit was part of the III. Panzer-Artillerie-Regiment 92 of the 20. Panzer-Division.
Excellent condition with light signs of wear and age.
Perfect addition to a combat EM/NCO uniform.
