Italian WW2 Commemorative Medal for the Military Operations in East Africa
1936 Italian East Africa Campaign Medal – "Molti Nemici Molto Onore"
Commemorative medal instituted by Kingdom of Italy in 1936 awarded troops who took part directly in the East Africa campaign, but also to those who helped to organize military operations. Afterwards, up until the Second World War, it was awarded to personnel that worked continuously in Africa.
Obverse depicts King Victor Emmanuel III (IMP DI ETIOPIA). The reverse displays a detailed Ethiopian mountain landscape, a large Roman fasces, and the famous Italian motto "Molti Nemici Molto Onore".
Signed at the base by designer G. Romagnoli.
Excellent condition with sharp high-relief details. Mounted on its original, correct blue and black striped silk suspension ribbon.
