German WW2 NSDAP Grossdeutschlandflug 1938 in Vienna Table Medal – Deschler & Sohn
A rare and complete commemorative table medal (Erinnerungsmedaille) issued by the Reichspropagandalaitung der NSDAP for the historic "Greater Germany Flight" landing in Vienna on April 9, 1938, the day preceding the Anschluss plebiscite.
These are rare on their own but finding one with its original case is almost impossible.
Obverse depicts five carrier pigeons flying over the Vienna Rathaus and a swastika background.
Reverse features the high-relief emblem and text of the NSDAP Reich Propaganda Directorate.
Produced and hallmarked by the prestigious firm Deschler & Sohn, München.
The table medal is 60 mm in diameter. Case 105 x 105 mm. We put an iron cross of the pictures as reference.
Outstanding near mint condition with a clean silvered finish.
Housed in its original, vibrant red fitted presentation case of issue with crisp gold maker lettering under the lid.
