Maker marked "Steinhauer & Lück, Ludenscheid".

This is the 1957 version which you can see on the pin and the catch.

Steinhauer continued their production after the war and when the tool got worn the letters of the makers mark became weaker.

Excellent ++ condition. Made of buntmetal.

From the front you can't see the difference between the wartime and 1957 version since these badges never had a swaz.

HISTORY:
The Horse Driver badge was awarded not for 'driving' horses, but rather for proficiency in driving various horse drawn vehicles. The award was instituted in 1930 and was presented throughout the course of the III. Reich. The Horse Driver badges were awarded in relatively small numbers, making them a scarce decoration to find. Only 1,940 of the silver class were awarded between 1931 and 1942!
