German WW2 M31 canteen marked GNL 39
Standard-issue German military water canteen (M31 Feldflasche), widely used by all branches of the Wehrmacht throughout World War II.
Aluminum Cap & Chain: Features the traditional threaded aluminum screw cap secured to the neck by a linked metal chain to prevent loss in the field.
Topped with a deep black molded Bakelite drinking cup secured over the cap by the leather harness strap.
The aluminum flask body is encased in its original insulating wool-blend felt cover, secured by a complete black leather strap system featuring spring-clip attachment hardware for field gear integration.
The aluminium could have markings but we don't want to try to remove the felt cover.
It remains in very good condition, show some wear and soiling but no damages.
Leather strap and the belt hook are all in good working order.
Ready to put in a display or on a mannequin.
