German WW2 BDM Gesunde Frauen durch Leibesübungen badge
BDM=Bund Deutscher Mädel.
The Reichsfrauenausschuss, a branch of the DRL, promoted women and girls in organized sports with a “Healthy women through physical exercises”(German:. “Gesunde Frauen durch Leibesübungen”) campaign.
This in part supported women’s success in the 1936 summer Olympics.
It is constructed out of a die stamped steel.
The front features a winged swastika with “Gesunde Frauen durch Leibesübungen” in black gothic style script on the wing.
The reverse features a hollow back with a horizontally soldered on well working pin .
Roughly 80 x 10 mm.
Very good condition.
